Special Needs Awareness 

The Special Needs Awareness Committee was set up several years ago by parents and staff in  Kilrane NS to promote awareness, acceptance, inclusion and understanding for children with additional needs. 

We hold several fundraising events and awareness days throughout the year.   Past activities included “Blue Nose" day to mark Autism awareness, “Odd Socks" day for Down Syndrome awareness, Diabetes Awareness, “Comfy Clothes” for Dyspraxia Awareness and the “Walk for Awareness”. Every pupil in the school also takes part in the 'Someone Like Me' art competition on an annual basis. This competition, much like our school, aims to promote awareness and inclusiveness for all.
